The theme of The Dreamer is inspired by an obscure Chinese philosophy called 'mountains are mountains,' which originated from Zen Buddhism. The animation examines the conventional truth, the ultimate truth, and the process of knowledge acquisition. Throughout the animation, I explore perspectives related to race, immigrant status, cultural perception, ethnoscape, identity, and nostalgia.
